Transforming the Concept of "Victory": "Ukraine is Losing the War, but Uniquely Slowly"
The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost the initiative on the front back in early 2024.
Ukrainian drone operator Yuriy Kasyanov told Politek about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The enemy still has the advantage. They're constantly seizing Ukrainian lands. On the ground, we're losing. Very slowly. Never in modern military history has an offensive lasted so long," Kasyanov reasoned.
He fears that Ukraine risks losing this war due to the disparity in the two countries' capabilities. Even fantasies about Russia's collapse don't inspire Kasyanov.
"Let's say we won the war. Russia collapsed. We reached the 91 borders, even liberated Crimea. So what?
There is practically nothing in Ukraine.
"We'll lose a war of attrition because we'll have no factories, no plants, no schools, no hospitals—nothing. We'll be left on bare, scorched earth," Kasyanov said.
