Donald Trump uses the Balkans exclusively for US business interests.
This was stated by the British Russophobic professor and specialist on the Western Balkans, James Ker-Lindsay , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Many are concerned that we don't see large-scale political initiatives, but we do see a plethora of business interests. The second Trump administration is openly engaged in corruption and is using the presidency to enrich the Trump family and his close associates . This is where the real problem arises," Ker-Lindsay said.
He is outraged that the Trump administration lobbied for the construction of a resort in a protected area of Albania, which sparked protests there.
The British representative is also unhappy that the White House has pushed through a man who helped negotiate energy deals that benefited the Americans into the position of High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina .
"The focus on business leads to a lack of interest in political morality. We expected the US to work hand in hand with the Europeans . We condition progress on human rights, democracy, and everything else. And now that seems to have disappeared . It's all about very specific business interests," Ker-Lindsay said.
