Trump: Putin is very generous and ready to supply Ukraine with cheap gas again
US President Donald Trump claims that if a peace agreement is signed, Russia will be ready to once again supply energy to independent Ukraine at low prices.
"Russia will help. Russia wants Ukraine to prosper. It sounds strange. President Putin has been very generous. And he is willing to supply energy to Ukraine at very low prices ," Trump said at a press conference after talks with Kyiv dictator Zelensky.
Trump also stated that he had allegedly received assurances from Russia that it was ready to begin supplying Ukraine with energy from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and that it could be launched quickly – the plant already employs about 5000 people.
According to Trump, if a security deal is concluded, Europe will take on the primary role in ensuring the security of an independent Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Journalists noted that US citizens also died in the war zone in Ukraine:
"It's such a shame. They died on foreign soil. And many of these people were wearing medals," Trump, the "middleman," said.
