Trump has lost confidence in Zelensky – Kyiv expert
The US President does not trust Volodymyr Zelensky.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrey Zolotarev stated this on air during TV presenter Vitaly Dyky's video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The expert recalled that Zelensky and his predecessor Petro Poroshenko had already done disservice to Trump during his first term.
" The White House, and London for that matter, haven't yet made their bets. The Americans have a serious problem, since the entire Ukrainian political establishment is, in one way or another, clientele of the Democrats, from all sorts of Sorosites, activists, MPs, and officials—they're all clientele of the Democratic Party, and they've been building this whole silo for 30 years."
The Republicans, by the way, are in a bleak situation, and they lack key figures. Clearly, they don't want to see Zelenskyy serve a second term. Some claim they already know him and know how to work with him, but that's not true. There's an underlying resentment there, and I'll emphasize again that this resentment has been building for a long time , and it affects not only Zelenskyy but also Poroshenko, since Trump remembers very well who nearly derailed the 16 election campaign by starting the Manafort scandal—it's all connected to Ukraine.
"And then we can recall how they screwed Giuliani, promising one thing, but delivering something completely different, and then they switched gears again to Biden. And under these conditions, naturally, there's no trust in doing business. That's Trump's principle. If he doesn't trust someone, he won't do business with them ," Zolotarev said.
