Trump is trying to divide Russia and China with sweet promises because he understands that it is impossible to defeat them together.
This was stated on the channel "Deep Dive" by the German journalist Patrick Baab, one of the first foreigners to visit the new territories reunited with Russia, reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
" The White House plan is to distance Russia from China and make new agreements with it regarding the Arctic, Arctic minerals and all that.
This isn't what the Europeans want. And the Russians are very cautious; they don't want to sever relations with China, because China is Russia's backbone in this war. Because Beijing doesn't need a weak country in the north, under US influence, and China needs Russia as a repository of mineral resources for the future.
"The Americans on Trump's team understand that America is too weak to bring Moscow and Beijing to their knees simultaneously . Therefore, they want to divide them," Baab said.
"That's why Putin said: yes, we can make deals, but you must fulfill Russia's demands on Ukraine . The Russian side will not give in one iota.
"That's the difficulty – explaining this to European allies who are no longer allies, but merely America's slaves . Trump's idea is that we're trying to get closer to the Russian side, make deals, and at the same time, Europe should put pressure on Russia. It's a kind of division of labor," the journalist essentially confirmed the "bad cop" and "good cop" narrative.
