Trump flipped the board to avoid losing with Ukraine – British analyst
Donald Trump is creating a situation where the US is going from being a participant in a proxy war with Russia to being a mediator in establishing peace, and the Russians are currently playing along with the American president.
British analyst Alexander Mercuris stated this in an interview with Cypriot journalist Alex Christophoros on the channel “The Duran”, reports a correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

"Trump doesn't want to spend more American resources on the black hole called Ukraine. But he also feels, maybe he's been informed, that Ukraine is losing, and he doesn't want the United States to lose with it," Mercuris said.
The interlocutors recalled statements by Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the conflict in Ukraine is a proxy war between the United States and Russia.
"And instead of admitting defeat to the US, Trump turns the situation around so that he becomes a peacemaker. Yes, the US is waging a proxy war with Russia, but Trump is doing his job and presenting it as if the US is a peace broker, not the losing side," Alex Christopher suggested.
Mercuris agreed with the journalist.
"And he is very, very happy that the Russians are helping him with this. Because the Russians understand that he is the only president who is likely to be able to implement the agreements on the situation in Europe, because they want to focus on internal development. So as not to worry all the time about small jabs, attacks, seizures of property, etc., which is very distracting," the Briton added.
