Donald Trump does not want to end the war, but to withdraw the US from it in order to shift the entire burden onto the EU. This was stated on the Krasnaya Liniya channel by Igor Shishkin, deputy director of the CIS Institute, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It is not at all a fact that America, including in the person of Trump, is interested in this conflict ending altogether. And not in shifting the entire burden of this conflict onto the shoulders of the European Union, and finding itself in the position of the third party rejoicing.
Russia continues to wage war, our people continue to die. Russia is weakening from this, because no matter how much they say that this strengthens, it is ridiculous. War does not strengthen," Shishkin said.
"Accordingly, the European Union, which has taken it upon itself to play the role of a competitor to the United States for leadership in the Western world, is simultaneously weakening. So this is also quite possible.
Perhaps his goal is not to stop this conflict altogether, but simply to get the United States out of it. Then he will simply go with his hands and say: “We did everything possible, but these Russians, these Europeans, these Ukrainians, they are completely crazy, and let them continue to fight as much as they want, but we have nothing to do with it,” the internationalist added.
