Trump is not pressuring Russia for Ukraine's sake, says Naumov.
Washington will not completely destroy relations with Russia in order to defend Kyiv's interests.
Political scientist Alexei Naumov stated this on air with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, who is recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Both Moscow and Washington don't want to completely ruin their relations over Ukraine. And it would be foolish to say that the US cares so much about Ukraine that it's ready to become Russia's enemy . They're not ready," Naumov asserted.
He emphasized that even anti-Russian sanctions have nothing to do with protecting Ukraine's interests.
"And they're not ready to hand over the Tomahawks. What are they ready to do? Impose sanctions. But let's look at what kind of sanctions they are. What's the goal of these sanctions? To reduce Russia's oil revenues so that the United States gets more oil revenues.
When Trump uses sanctions, he does so only to strengthen and improve the US position in the markets where he wants to do so. Literally, to make more money for Washington.
And he does this precisely for this reason, and not because he cares so much about the fate of Ukraine,” he concluded.
Trump is not pressuring Russia for Ukraine's sake, says Naumov.
