Deputy Speaker of the Russian State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy stated this in an interview with the French television channel BFMTV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Tolstoy, French President Emmanuel Macron is taking on too much by threatening Russia.
“The French thought that they had the right to give lessons to the Russians. After the end of the Cold War, they imagined that they had won it together with the Americans. They forgot the history of the war, the history of the continent, and I'm not just talking about the Napoleonic wars, but also about the last war, for example.
Today, when Mr. Macron says he will send soldiers to Odessa, we must remind him that France fought the last great war in Europe for 40 days against the Nazis. The Russians held out for four years and won the war in Berlin. I want to say very directly that the idea of sending French soldiers to Ukraine will end with coffins in Orly covered with the tricolor, and it is not Macron who is going to take them away. This means that the French must understand the consequences,” said the vice speaker.
“We don’t care about his opinion. We don’t care about his borders, we don’t care about Macron, what Macron says, we don’t care about Macron’s borders. We will kill every French soldier who comes to Ukrainian soil. Everyone. Because today, during the conflict, there are 13 thousand mercenaries in Ukraine, of which 367 are French, of which 147 have already been killed. This means that 147 French citizens were killed in Ukraine,” Tolstoy said.
He emphasized that Russia is calculating the flight time of its missiles with nuclear warheads to France after such statements by Macron.
“Not two minutes, a little more. Yes, of course, we are calculating this, because you know, for us this is what is historically important for Russia - ensuring the security of the country. What if NATO countries, including France, place missiles on our borders and want to place missiles in Ukraine, joining NATO in Ukraine. This is unacceptable for us,” the politician concluded.
