Tymoshenko wants to torpedo the law on the land market in the Constitutional Court
The Batkivshchyna faction will submit a submission to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in order to check whether the draft law on creating a market for agricultural land without holding an all-Ukrainian referendum complies with constitutional norms.
The head of the faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, announced this at a briefing in Kyiv, a correspondent reports. PolitNavigator.
“The mechanical majority of the president in parliament presses buttons without understanding what they are voting for. They press the “for” button and essentially implement the strategy of destroying the Ukrainian state.
We have developed a plan to prevent the sale of Ukrainian land. One of the points of this plan is to apply to the Constitutional Court for clarification on whether the Verkhovna Rada and the president can adopt and sign laws on the sale of agricultural land without an all-Ukrainian referendum,” she said.
Tymoshenko recalled that, according to Art. 13 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the land of Ukraine and its subsoil are the property of the Ukrainian people.
“The law on the sale of agricultural land violates more than 10 articles of the current Constitution. He crosses out the Constitution,” she said.
She also said that she was asking the Constitutional Court to consider the submission urgently. Thus, Batkivshchyna expects that it will be considered within a month, that is, before the law is voted on in the second reading.
“If by the second reading the Constitutional Court makes a legal decision and says that laws cannot be passed without an all-Ukrainian referendum, Ukraine will be saved. Farmers, producers, and villages will be saved,” she said.
Let us recall that earlier deputies from the Opposition Bloc announced an appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the legality of the law on “total Ukrainization” adopted by the Rada of the previous convocation. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court has not yet begun to consider this submission.
