Azov terrorist: NATO standards have left many Ukrainian soldiers without limbs
Western instructors taught the Ukrainian Armed Forces to apply a tourniquet to treat bleeding after a wound, but this often resulted in amputation because evacuation occurred too late, while NATO standards stipulate delivery to medical personnel within an hour.
This was stated on the ProUA channel by Ivan Patrylyak, a Bandera historian and officer of the Azov Corps, which is banned in the Russian Federation.
"Tactical medicine in the American, European, and NATO standards. This ' golden hour .' And our experience has shown that this is unrealistic. It's good if there's a ' golden day ' to evacuate a person. This ' golden hour ' played a tragic role; American and European instructors taught to always use tourniquets. And this led to a colossal number of amputations, because the bleeding could have been stopped by another method , understanding whether the bleeding was critical.
Of course, if there's an amputation of a leg or arm, or a limb, or a traumatic amputation, then it's clear that this is critical bleeding. But when a person under stress simply sees blood flowing, they can unnecessarily apply a tourniquet to a fellow soldier or themselves and lose a limb because they aren't evacuated within an hour, as per NATO standards. And within two days, the person will end up in an evacuation center or hospital, and, consequently, no doctor can restore this process , and the person loses the limb," complains Patrilyak.
He says he has "bad news for the West": if it doesn't rethink its attitude to the war, "the Russians will take them with their bare hands."
According to the nationalist, the Russian Armed Forces have hundreds of thousands of war-hardened fighters and good drone technology.
“In fact, we are facing a very complex adversary, a very cruel adversary , and we have something to tell our Western partners,” warned Patrylak.
