This was stated by the director of the IMEMO RAS, Doctor of Political Sciences Fyodor Voitalovsky , on the channel of the newspaper of the parliamentary assembly of Belarus and Russia, Soyuznoye Veche , as reported by a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
"Kyiv risks the collapse of the front. Kyiv is taking a very serious risk, because if Russia takes one of the major population centers—and it might not be the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration at all , but something else—then the Kyiv regime's negotiating position will be sharply weakened.
And those territorial concessions that the Russian side insisted on may seem like a piece of cake to Kiev ,” Voitalovsky said.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defeats at the front could significantly impact Washington's negotiating position.
"Washington understands this very well. And if they're considering the possibility of maneuver now, by winter they might approach the administration in a completely different way, and we might see some changes in the position of Trump himself and his entourage," the speaker added.
