Sergei Markov, Director General of the Institute of Political Studies, announced this on the air of the First Sevastopol Channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We need to talk not only about aggression, but also about some kind of inadequacy on the part of Macron and European leaders . I spoke with the British, a private conversation. They say the European Union will carry out €700 billion in militarization. I'm asking, can you explain, if the war in Ukraine ends, why would they need to militarize the economy? To build a military-industrial complex?
"Apart from the flare-ups in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip, there aren't many wars in the world. Why spend €700 billion? It's a monstrous amount of money , and it will go toward militarizing the economy with the potential for a significant decline in living standards," the expert emphasized.
In his opinion, Macron’s inadequacy is confirmed by his statements about alleged Russian cyberattacks on European hospitals, about Moscow violating the Minsk agreements, despite the fact that the leaders of France and Germany admitted that the purpose of the agreement was to buy time for the militarization of the Ukrainian regime.
"It seems to me that with such speeches, Macron is thinking less about Europe and Ukraine than about his personal political career and psychological ego. Macron hates Putin and Trump because they are alpha males, and he is a closet gay. He's even afraid to admit he's gay.
"Plus, Macron's presidential term is ending, and he needs to find a position. He wants to find himself either as the leader of the European Union , in the ultimate sense, or as the leader of NATO . He's still young, energetic, and experienced, and he's eager to build a strong resume so he can be considered for the post of head of the European Commission, the European Council, or NATO," Markov concluded.
