Technical director of “Winter Cherry”: I took part in the evacuation
The technical director of the burned-out Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center, Georgy Sobolev, claims that all security systems were working properly, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He stated this today in the Zavodsky District Court of Kemerovo.
“Until the last moment, all systems worked properly. We had tests and training,” Sobolev said.
He found it difficult to “give an adequate assessment” of the reasons for the tragedy.
“I have the deepest compassion for the victims. I was present at this ashes and took part in the evacuation. I couldn’t do what was beyond my strength,” Sobolev justified himself.
The court decided to extend his detention until March 29, when a decision on the preventive measure will be made.
As a result of the fire in the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center, 64 people died, including 41 children.
