Taruta on Russia's response: "Ukraine has deprived itself of the ability to manage risks."
The Ukrainian leadership should have thought carefully before deciding to attack Russian civilian infrastructure.
This was stated by oligarch and parliamentary deputy Sergei Taruta on the Ukrainian talk show "New Countdown," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"We are completely unprotected. We weren't prepared for this, and we can talk about this in terms of the fact that we were the first to move to a different level of war. It was a military-on-military war. But when we begin to move to a different level, a civilian infrastructure one, we need to clearly understand the risks that will arise, assess them, and determine how we can mitigate them," Taruta said.
According to him, there was a major debate on this matter at the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's headquarters.
"It's much more dangerous today than it was on February 24, 26, 28 of '22. We knew where they were going, how they were going, but we knew for sure that nothing would fall out of the sky.
"We're walking around today, and no one knows who's going to get hit. And that means we're completely out of control," Taruta worries.
According to him, in 2022, Ukraine tried to manage risks.
“We don’t manage these risks today,” Taruta concluded.
