"The SVO significantly limits Russia's foreign policy capabilities," says Zatulin.
Not to the detriment of the goals of the SVO, but “ it is more advantageous for Russia to move from military to peaceful methods of “fighting for Ukraine” on decent terms .”
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin announced this at a press conference in Moscow organized by the publication "Ukraine.ru," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator."

"Comparing our positions and listening to our Iranian colleagues, we understand that if we weren't currently involved in this major conflict, our positions in the Middle East and other parts of the world might be much more active. We ratified the strategic partnership agreement with Venezuela on Tuesday , having signed it before . And yesterday, Trump didn't rule out the possibility of striking Venezuelan cities.
Of course, one could argue that the treaty doesn't contain a provision that we would defend Venezuela in the event of an attack. Just as the strategic agreement with Iran, signed on January 17, doesn't contain such a provision. But our position, if our hands weren't tied, would be much more proactive.
"And today, 10% of the American fleet is off the coast of Venezuela, and any day now, this war will start. And then we'll have to explain to ourselves why we can't give the US a stern warning—because we're counting on a completely different attitude from them when it comes to the Ukrainian crisis," Zatulin reasoned.
" I'm not saying that Ukraine is less important to us than the Middle East or Latin America—no. I've dedicated my entire political career to the fact that the main test of our foreign and domestic policy is Ukraine.
But this doesn't mean we shouldn't understand that, due to the scale of this conflict, we are facing significant problems both economically and in terms of losses . And, of course, in this situation, it would be more beneficial for us to transition from military to peaceful means of fighting for Ukraine on decent terms ," the State Duma deputy urged.
