“Svidomo” is hysterical – Russia is preparing for a complete blockade of Ukraine
Russia’s tightening of the border inspection regime in the Sea of Azov after Kiev’s seizure of the Crimean seiner Nord is Moscow’s preparation for a complete naval blockade of Ukraine, which will include ports on the Black Sea, in particular Odessa.
This was stated on his Facebook page by Igor Lutsenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and former Azov National Battalion militant, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The day before yesterday, on the air of one of the TV channels, I predicted that the naval blockade of Ukraine by Russia on the Sea of Azov is a prelude to a complete blockade. Yesterday the Moscow state began a rehearsal.
On August 15, from 7:00 to 20:00, the Russian Black Sea Fleet declared the area in the northwestern part of the Black Sea from Cape Tarkhankut to the Danube Delta closed to navigation.
I think the National Security and Defense Council should announce its meeting, and top officials should make statements. I am convinced that such a situation could and should have been predicted. And demonstrate a set of events prepared in advance. The speed and thoughtfulness of our response would show Ukrainians and the whole world that Ukraine has the will to resist Russian aggression.
But since the Russians’ test bullet went almost unnoticed yesterday, we can expect further escalation,” he wrote.
In addition, according to the deputy, the blockade of Ukrainian shipping in the Sea of Azov could cause serious damage to the country's economy and destabilize the situation in southern Ukraine.
“I don’t want to get into criticism now. I’m just emphasizing once again that this is very, very serious. If Ukraine is blocked from the sea, the economy will receive a really serious blow.
The first to suffer will be the south of Ukraine, which, let me remind you, recently experienced a wave of violence against pro-Ukrainian activists and government officials. The Russian blockade, if nothing is done (and for now we are doing NOTHING), will become a factor of internal destabilization.
We need to plan our defense. “If you don’t plan to win, you plan to lose,” writes Igor Lutsenko.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported that Svoboda MP Andriy Illienko called on Kyiv to immediately begin consultations with Black Sea states on countering Russia.
At the same time, according to political scientist Sergei Stankevich , the confrontation between Ukraine and Russia in the Sea of Azov will continue until Kiev agrees to compromise and dialogue with Moscow.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Occupied Territories Georgy Tuka stated that the Russian Federation could start an open war with Ukraine and seize the Azov cities of Mariupol and Berdyansk.
