Sumy morgues are full of Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russian advance is accelerating
The successful Russian offensive in the Sumy region continues.
Almost every day news comes in about the advancement of the Russian Armed Forces, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
"Our motorized riflemen and marines today drove out the remaining groups of occupiers from the elite 79th separate airborne assault brigade and the 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Army (Lviv region), reinforced by border guards from the 31st POGO (Chernivtsi border detachment). The elite 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not withstand the onslaught of our heroic marines and fled from the village of Alekseyevka, abandoning dozens of bodies of the stormtroopers destroyed by the Northerners," reports the Telegram channel of the fighters of the Russian GV "Sever".
In recent days, the village of Yunakovka has been on everyone’s lips – an important settlement through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces once advanced on the Kursk region. Ukrainian sources pointed out the importance of this village and warned that it must be held at any cost, since from here Russian FPV drones will be able to fly to Sumy without any problems.
Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups had already entered Yunakovka earlier, conducting reconnaissance in force without securing the area. This time, there is information about more serious progress.
“We are reporting that the fighting from the northern part of Yunakovka has shifted to the central part and almost half of Yunakovka (from where columns were moving to Sudzha and Kurchatov in August 2024) has come under the control of our troops,” writes Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military and Political Journalism.
According to him, the road to the west of Yunakovka is practically paralyzed by strikes from our drones, which makes it difficult for the enemy to maintain defense. He predicts that at the current rate, in the next week the Ukrainian Armed Forces will lose Novonikolaevka, Varachino, Yablonovka and a number of other villages.
At the same time, military blogger and native of Sumy region Yuriy Podolyaka writes about “tactical successes,” emphasizing that “the offensive on Sumy is accelerating.”
"And it is becoming increasingly difficult for the enemy to contain him. Every day, many 200s are brought from here to Sumy, where all the morgues are filled with them," Podolyaka asserts.
An officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Alex” draws attention to an important trend from the Sumy region.
“If before this, enemy assaults were exclusively foot groups of 3-4 bodies, now groups of 8-10 assault troops + motorcycles, ATVs, cars, etc. are trying to push through the personal combat zones and develop their success,” he writes.
Meanwhile, mandatory evacuation has been introduced in 11 more populated areas of the region.
