Strelkov insists on the inevitability of war with Ukraine
War between Ukraine and Russia is inevitable. Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Strelkov also considered that if Ukraine goes on the offensive against the Donbass republics, and Russia does not help them, the LDPR will face a military defeat, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have a quantitative advantage.
“For the entire seven years that this conflict has been going on, it has been an axiom for me that a military clash between the Russian Federation and present-day Ukraine is virtually inevitable. It was inevitable, it remains so and will remain so as long as the people who came to power as a result of the 2014 coup are in power in Kyiv.
Regarding Zelensky’s words that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of quickly taking Donetsk and Lugansk, unfortunately, if the Russian Federation does not intervene in this armed conflict and the Ukrainian army goes on a decisive offensive, this will really happen, and it will happen quite quickly. Since the Ukrainian army has a very serious numerical advantage, a significant advantage in military equipment over the corps of the People's Militia. In general, a two-and-a-half to three-fold advantage in personnel remains constant, and in the event of a decisive offensive, Ukraine is able to increase this superiority to five to seven times in relation to the forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics,” Strelkov said.
In his opinion, the capture of the LDPR by the Ukrainian army will cause a massive outflow of the Donbass population to Russia.
“Before the start of the war, approximately 3,5 million people lived in Donbass, maybe a little less. Most of which were quite professional. That is, the people who served real, operating industrial enterprises, mines, had serious skills and specialties. They turned out to be in great demand in the Russian Federation, which is experiencing a shortage of qualified labor belonging to the classical proletariat...
I believe that we may be talking about the fact that a significant part of the population will be forced to flee from there. Not even because we are talking about repressions, although they will certainly happen and there is no doubt about it. Even if at the top they assure about national reconciliation and so on, on the ground, given that the Ukrainian state is gradually falling apart, they will create the most terrible outrages that one can imagine. Bloody, dirty, etc.
But that’s not all we’re talking about. The region is already rapidly deindustrializing, mines are closing, factories are either already closed or are closing, the working population is fleeing. Mostly flees to the Russian Federation.
In the event of Ukrainian troops entering the Donbass, occupying Donetsk and Lugansk, the families of those who are now working in Russia will simply be forced to leave the territory and reunite on the territory of the Russian Federation.
