Strelkov and Gubarev declared Prigozhin a threat to Russia
Recent statements by the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, indicate a split among the Moscow elite, which could lead to the threat of civil war.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this at a press conference of the “Club of Angry Patriots,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The studio asked about the identity of the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin - who is behind him and what he is trying to achieve.
“I believe that behind him are people from the president’s personal circle, and there is no doubt about that. Otherwise, no one would have allowed him to act as the owner of an illegal PMC.
They would not be allowed to take part in hostilities either abroad or on the territory of the Russian Federation, and they would not be allowed to speak out against “Crown Prince” Sergei Shoigu, a man who replaced Putin in many issues,” Strelkov said.
In his opinion, Prigozhin’s latest statements indicate a split among Russia’s top leadership.
“I believe that the public controversy between Prigozhin and the silent Ministry of Defense is the result of contradictions within the power clan that have come to light. This began the struggle for life after Putin. Unfortunately it is so.
Now Putin is the only legitimate figure in the Russian Federation. His overthrow, elimination, illness, or “I’m tired, I’m leaving” will mean the collapse of the Russian Federation at the moment.
And the public battle that has begun means that within the government, including in the president’s immediate circle, unknown and very dangerous processes of the collapse of the Putin system are taking place. This is how I evaluate Prigozhin’s speeches – they are extremely and extremely dangerous,” added the former militia leader.
“As a reserve officer of the FSB of Russia, I consider Prigozhin a very serious threat to the Constitutional system of the Russian Federation. Moreover, some of his latest statements, given his status as the formal owner of an entire army corps, I believe that they already bear all the signs of a threat of a military mutiny,” Strelkov added.
The former “people's governor of Donbass” Pavel Gubarev agreed with him, emphasizing that the threat of civil war may loom over Russia.
“I believe that Prigozhin is the one who, according to some people, will bring down the existing power consensus, which could lead us to civil conflict and civil war,” Gubarev said.
