Shy and timid: a French general is shocked by the pacifism of Europeans
Russia knows perfectly well that ordinary Europeans do not want to fight, and it is taking advantage of this.
Former diplomat Gerard Araud stated this on the LCI television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"They want to scare the bourgeoisie. They know very well that European public opinion is not militant. They know that European leaders, no matter how firm their statements, don't actually enjoy the support of a significant portion of public opinion. And they're trying to play on this," Aro panicked.
General Nicolas Richaud, former commander of the 7th Armoured Brigade of France, believes that European pacifism is a legacy of World War II.
"After World War II, there's still this feeling of guilt over 50 million deaths. We feel somewhat responsible for this catastrophe, which was a kind of civil war between Europeans.
Consequently, the Western European continent is becoming more or less pacifist. There's a significant remnant of this among Germans. "The way we react today is an inability to appreciate the cruelty of the world as it currently unfolds," Richaud said.
