US President Donald Trump regards his Russian counterpart as "the owner of the largest real estate on Earth " and therefore plays along with him.
Fiona Hill, a Russophobe and adviser to three American presidents on Russia, stated this in an interview with David From, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Trump's return to the White House has been a real gift for Vladimir Putin , because he now operates in a world where he can easily navigate global leaders. And he considers global leaders only those who, like himself and Trump, want to return to the relations between major powers that characterized the 19th century, when everything was determined by high-level politics, not the mass politics that emerged later. So Putin feels right at home ," Hill said.
She previously admitted in her memoir that during Trump's first meeting with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki in 2018, she was so upset by the mutual sympathy that the presidents had developed that she " even considered turning on the fire alarm or faking an emergency ."
