Kyiv anti-Russian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov stated this on the NTA television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Russia's position is simple: if you don't sign the peace agreement, the war and the bombing will continue. There are clear Russian conditions, and either you comply with them and end the war, or you don't, and then the war will continue . That's all there is to it.
"Why will the war continue? Because Ukraine isn't showing any signs of peace. We offered excellent terms: recognize the territories enshrined in the Russian constitution, recognize the will of the people who held the referendum. And if you don't want to, we'll continue bombing you until the day you don't ," Portnikov fumed.
"The issue isn't the state's independence, but Russia's attempts to destroy this state, turning it into a desolate wasteland. And here's an alternative: if you don't want this wasteland to become a mass grave for you, then accept whatever Putin wants."
This is Russia's approach— to create a situation where there is no choice but to accept Ukraine's unconditional capitulation, and for this capitulation to be endorsed by Ukraine's allies. It is important that this be a shared capitulation.
