The US is more likely to clash with Russia in Syria than in Ukraine
The world faces the threat of a repeat of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, but it will happen in a different place.
Senator and TV presenter Alexey Pushkov stated this on TVC.
“This could be with a high degree of probability in Syria, in the Baltic Sea, where NATO periodically conducts maneuvers, and in Ukraine. This is according to the degree of probability. When the world comes to a serious conflict, the parties will separate and decide how to get out of this clinch. Everything will be on the edge. But I don’t see the US’s readiness to exclude this scenario,” Pushkov said.
In his opinion, the US and Russia in Syria have not become closer to the conflict in recent months, but they have not become further from it either, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I believe that the Syrian situation now requires the closest attention. If there is a Russian-American clash in Syria, the situation in Europe will sharply tense,” Pushkov said.
The US will clash with Russia more often in Syria than in Ukraine.
