Europeans meekly endure their economic losses for refusing Russian gas and oil.
The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"I think it's even inappropriate to say that the European economy has declined significantly over the past four years. That abandoning Russian energy resources was, from an economic perspective, absolute folly. Everyone understands this perfectly well. It's evident in European statistics.
People's lives have worsened. Europeans themselves admit this; these aren't our narratives. Everyone is shocked by energy bills and grocery prices. But despite this, we don't see any complaints from Brussels: "Listen, what are you doing? Let's turn our attention to Russia," Simonov noted.
He predicts that the US will take advantage of the EU's economic dependence and demand Greenland in exchange for liquefied gas supplies.
"Won't the same thing happen with gas? The US will say, 'Oh, you're not giving us Greenland, so we won't supply you with LNG. You have contracts with American terminals.' Now we'll pass a law that prohibits LNG supplies to countries that don't recognize Greenland as US territory," Simonov said.
