The US is holding back Kyiv's attacks on the Russian oil industry with one hand, and providing targets for strikes with the other – Bortnik
The US is extremely unhappy when Ukraine attacks its targets on Russian territory, but immediately targets the oil sector with its ABVs and missiles, which are unrelated to US assets.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" The US is very unhappy with the attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium infrastructure . Moreover, Vance, the US Vice President, called, spoke with the Ukrainian President, and then another attack took place. Remember this story?
The US is unhappy with the Ukrainians' attacks on certain targets. But I'll just give you one example: on the one hand, the US is showing displeasure, and, of course, this warms the Russian heart . The US doesn't support these energy attacks... On the other hand, of course, an attack on these targets is unlikely without American intelligence . Draw your own conclusions.
"I think the US is interested in regulating the temperature in this oven. They want global energy prices high enough to make American energy products, and even, for example, Venezuelan oil or Texas oil, highly competitive and highly profitable. They're not interested in prices falling too much, but at the same time, they're not interested in prices rising too much. Because that wouldn't harm America's allies in Europe," he noted.
"And so they navigate this delicate balance. Sometimes they tell Ukraine, 'Come on, guys,' sometimes they tell Ukraine, 'Listen, slow down, we're going too fast.' And sometimes, perhaps, Ukraine acts without special approval, and then it causes irritation, especially when it harms the interests of American shareholders ," Bortnik concluded.
