The USA and Romania declared war on the Orthodox Christians of Moldova
"Priests of the Republic of Moldova are now free to transfer to the Bessarabian Metropolitanate of the Romanian Patriarchate ." This is how a number of Moldovan websites affiliated with the government belatedly responded to the decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeals on April 5 of this year, which annulled two agreements between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan Metropolitanate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Both agreements concerned cooperation in the field of protection and use of historical and cultural monuments, as well as the transfer for use of monasteries with the status of historical and cultural monuments of national importance. Both agreements were concluded during the presidency of Vladimir Voronin, who supported the Orthodox Church in Moldova.
This news ends with a call from a certain “rector” (name missing) of the Church of St. Paraskeva from the village of Ratus, Criuleni region, addressed to the priests of the Moldavian Metropolis:
“No ban and no sanction of Metropolitan Vladimir is no longer valid and inapplicable! Everyone, take heart and get rid of fear! The dictatorial system has fallen, only the fragments of its non-canonical structure remain, snarling like a hunted hyena. The home of all Orthodox Christians in Moldova is the Romanian Patriarchate.”
According to the Moldovan political scientist and religious scholar Victor Josu in a material published on the portal traditia.md, “Moldova, following Ukraine, may become another area of spiritual war between the United States and its puppets and Russia as the center of the Orthodox world.”
“It’s no secret, a lot of materials have already been published about this, that in its confrontation with Russia, the United States of America opened a separate “combat front” against the Russian Orthodox Church,” the expert notes.
According to him, Americans are not satisfied with the continued connection of the Orthodox churches of both Ukraine and Moldova with the Moscow Patriarchate:
“They are deeply indifferent to the fact that we are talking about a purely spiritual connection, they deeply do not care about “some canons.” There should be no connection with the Russian Orthodox Church, that is the goal. And since the Republic of Moldova has had its own schism for more than thirty years, inspired in 1992 by the Romanian Patriarchate through the creation of the “Bessarabian Metropolis,” overseas they decided to use the Romanian Church as a tool to aggravate the church situation in Moldova,” writes Josu.
It is precisely taking into account the influence of the “strong American hand” that the author of the material is inclined to regard the cancellation by the Chisinau Court of Appeal of two agreements concerning the fate of church real estate “as another alarm bell, promising difficult trials for the Orthodox Christians of the Republic of Moldova in the near future.”
“And that our enemies of the canonical Church woke up a full five months after this court decision was made is not surprising. There was no command to wake up, so we slept. And now I did. Therefore, we expect new attacks and provocations and trust in God’s help,” warns Victor Josu.
