The US and Russia will jointly and each in their own way force Ukraine to peace – Ukrainian political scientist
It may be quite profitable for the United States to allow Russia to continue to advance on a weakened Ukraine in order to make Kyiv more compliant.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrey Ermolaev stated this on the UkrLife channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"An offensive from the north, or at least military blackmail associated with a possible offensive, is entirely possible. And such an option may well suit the US and Trump.
Because the swings that have now begun in big diplomacy around Ukraine’s position, around the so-called recovery fund, what it will be like, whether the United States will take full control of Ukraine’s strategic assets, how accommodating Ukraine’s political leadership will be in bilateral relations.
So, in this regard, the US administration may play the pause card. Rubio recently hinted that weeks will tell, and it may not even be advantageous for the United States to continue playing this game if mediation fails," Yermolaev said.
"But this scenario undoubtedly creates new threats and dangers for Ukraine, both at the front and in the political situation. The protracted nature of military events and their escalation throughout the summer could lead to a whole host of systemic problems , both at the front and in the economy."
And I think that the Kremlin is betting on the fact that Ukraine's situation may worsen. And then the conversation about some kind of suspension will be conducted from a completely different position.
And given the cynicism of the situation, I do not rule out that such talks are already underway between Moscow and Washington – to put pressure, so that later, from a more advantageous position, they can force Kyiv to make concessions, negotiate and reboot. This will also affect the authorities,” the political scientist added.
