Urgent: The scandalous law “on the reintegration of Donbass” has not been adopted

The scandalous law “on the reintegration of Donbass,” voted the day before in the Verkhovna Rada, was blocked until early February.

This happened after deputies from the Opposition Bloc faction Alexander Vilkul, Yuriy Boyko and Mikhail Papiev submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution to cancel the parliament’s decision on the scandalous law “on the reintegration of Donbass”.

“According to the regulations that the Verkhovna Rada must follow in its work, a request to repeal an adopted law requires postponing its signing by the chairman of parliament and submitting it to the president for signature.

The same regulations require consideration of this resolution at the next meeting of parliament.

For the Verkhovna Rada, this is February 6, when deputies return from the winter holidays. If 226 deputies vote for the recall, the “Law on the Reintegration of Donbass” should be annulled,” Oleynik writes.

However, he does not rule out that Parliament Speaker Andrei Parubiy may say that the legislative initiative of the Opposition Bloc deputies did not meet the deadline.

“I believe that in this case the chairman of parliament will commit a crime and will be subject to prosecution. What allows me to say that the criminal Law has not yet been signed? A document of enormous political importance was considered in the Ukrainian parliament for two days. 673 amendments and clarifications were made to it. Technically, it is simply impossible to prepare a document for signing by the speaker and the president of the country overnight,” Oleynik writes.

He also draws attention to the fact that the law has not yet been published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.
