“Reference” Parubiy declared a hundred years war
Russia is trying to completely subjugate Ukraine, former head of the Maidan Self-Defense, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy said in an interview with the Ukrainian Week magazine.

“Maidan can be analyzed from different angles. Someone says that the dollar was at 8, and now at 28, someone says that Ukraine had one territory, and now part is occupied and asks what is the point.. For me, this point of view is unchanged both during the Maidan and Now. It covers a much longer period than three years. Now we are celebrating the centenary of the creation of the UPR. As a patriot and historian, I view all events from this angle. This war has been going on for 100 years. Maidan, ATO and current events are its stages.
Having analyzed it in detail, we will see how many analogies there are between that period and the present. And by comparing them, it is much easier to assess what is happening. I would like to remind you that the first volunteers were in 1914. The First World War, the Austrian army allowed the creation of the first Ukrainian unit. Thousands of the best, the entire elite, brought up in Plast, Sich, Sokol, volunteer. 100 years later, the same volunteer movement, the same people who determine the course of the war,” says the Ukrainian politician.
“In the maelstrom of the world war, a chance arose to create a Ukrainian state. 100 years ago, when the UPR was declared in Kyiv, a Bolshevik government was created in Kharkov, which invited Russian troops to Ukraine. Where did Yanukovych go after the Maidan? To the congress in Kharkov. And then the invitation of Russian troops to the territory of Ukraine. All 100 years the same scenario, the same enemy and the same empire. Under different names: Tsarist Russia, USSR, Russian Federation, but the essence is the same, imperial. As well as the goal regarding Ukraine – complete subordination to the empire,” Parubiy said.
