Armenian Parliament Speaker: Nagorno-Karabakh Movement's Page Closed
By handing over Nagorno-Karabakh to Baku, Yerevan allegedly freed both Armenia and Azerbaijan from dependence
The speaker of the Armenian parliament, Alen Simonyan , stated this in an interview with DW (the media group is recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"All these conversations , these political programs—they were being formulated, and the vision was that this country, with which we gained independence, these borders—they're not permanent . It's just that today is some kind of transitional moment that will pass in history, and we'll have an opportunity, and we'll reclaim the lands that once belonged to Armenia a hundred years ago, a thousand years ago. And in this search for a country, we didn't notice how we almost lost the real Armenia, with which we gained independence in 91," Simonyan said.
" So, the fact that Armenia shouldn't be involved in Nagorno-Karabakh is a positive thing for Armenia? " the interviewer clarified.
"We've stated this repeatedly. This is a trap for an independent Armenia , a trap set to ensure Armenia will never be independent, and at the same time, Azerbaijan won't be independent either, it will be under control, it will be leverage. The Nagorno-Karabakh movement is closed ," the Armenian speaker responded.
