The latest high-profile scandal in Ukraine is the detention on charges of corruption and the subsequent release of politician Nikolai Martynenko, the long-time “shadow” curator of the country’s nuclear market. A sponsor of anti-Russian Ukrainian parties, who made a fortune thanks to his work with Russia. Martynenko was saved from arrest by Petro Poroshenko in order to save himself from impeachment.

Ukraine has four nuclear power plants with 15 power units, most of which are of the VVER-1000 project, some of the VVER-400 type. These are Soviet-designed reactors and power units, the technology for operating them and producing the corresponding fuel assemblies for them remained only in Russia, specifically Rosatom.

Rosatom is one of the most successful state corporations in Russia. Rosatom is currently building reactors all over the world, so one of the points of the new agreements with Turkey was the completion of the Rosatom nuclear power plant in this country.

Rosatom cooperates with the Gazprom corporation, which in turn owns the United Machine-Building Plants corporation – OMZ for short.

The Americans are also trying to fight for the fuel market for nuclear power plants in Ukraine and other socialist countries.

Westinghouse supplied fuel to a Czech nuclear power plant as an experiment. In 2006, a large-scale emergency almost happened there, because the reactors at Czech stations were also Soviet-designed, similar to Ukrainian ones.

Following the incident, OMZ bought out part of the Czech concern Skoda, which is engaged in maintaining these particular VVER reactors.

But let’s return to the arrest of Nikolai Martynenko, which was carried out by the highly publicized National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, created with American money.

For some reason, the arrest was also filmed by cameramen from the Ukrainian editorial office of the American company Radio Liberty. For a live report.

The fact is that for many years Nikolai Martynenko, Yatsenyuk’s closest associate, one of the sponsors of Euromaidan, a person who influenced Yushchenko’s policies, received his main profit from cooperation, or more precisely from interest on the maintenance of Ukrainian reactors, which was carried out by Russian companies such , like Rosatom, OMZ and the Russian-Czech part of Skoda.

Documents about the profits of Martynenko, Yatsenyuk and Zhvania from lobbying the interests of Russian companies were “leaked” to the Network by a direct American influence agent, a quota deputy from the American embassy in the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party, Sergei Leshchenko.

After the first leak about possible bribes that Martynenko received from a Czech company in lobbying for the completion of Soviet-Russian reactors at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, started by Yanukovych, he lost his parliamentary immunity.

According to Leshchenko’s “leak” about Martynenko’s interest from the supply of uranium ore to the Ukrainian “Eastern Mining and Processing Plant” from Kazakhstan, the latter was demonstrably arrested on cameras of the American media structure “Radio Liberty” by the American NABU.

But a truly astonishing and surprising factoid about Martynenko's business came to light. A sponsor of the "war hawks," the Turchynovs, the Parubiys, and other scoundrels from the "People's Front," Martynenko not only received bribes and commissions from Russian companies but also actively conducted business activities in the "aggressor country," while his protégés actively incited hatred in Ukraine.

In particular, Martynenko's company, Steuermann Investitions, which supplied uranium ore to the Vostochny Mining and Processing Plant from Kazakhstan to Ukraine at an inflated price, is the founder of the Russian JSC Saleno, along with another shareholder, Kote Sotkimlava, etc.

In this, Martynenko is very similar to... Poroshenko. It was Poroshenko who shouted about “aggression” and “aggressor”, receiving dollars from the sales of chocolates from his factory in Russia. It was Martynenko who financed Euromaidan and the ghouls from the Popular Front, actively collaborating with Russian corporations.

Poroshenko's own conflict with the NABU, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, and other American agencies created after 2014 to directly oversee the situation in Ukraine is ongoing and will never end. Poroshenko's Prosecutor General's Office has been in conflict with the NABU for three years now. Prosecutors have even clashed with NABU investigators and special forces. Poroshenko's spokesmen and bots, the likes of Berezovsky, Nussy, and Ukolov, hate the American NABU with a passion, devoting a great deal of time and energy to criticizing these agencies.

Martynenko's arrest is a purely American project. Martynenko's release is a clear sign of Poroshenko's influence over the courts. Presidential protégé Volodymyr Groysman approved ministerial bail for Martynenko. Yatsenyuk personally met with Poroshenko and asked him to influence the court's decision to release him on bail.

This is because Martynenko is one of the key figures in the agreements between the Poroshenko Bloc and the Popular Front, and therefore the guarantor of maintaining the visibility of the coalition in the Verkhovna Rada.

Martynenko himself called the NABU attack a “PR campaign of the Georgian mafia,” hinting that a place has already been prepared for the heads of NABU on the lists of the Saakashvili-Leshchenko party.

It is these American agents of influence such as NABU, Leshchenko, Saakashvili and others who are the brightest and most serious competitors and enemies of Poroshenko at the moment.

And for now, they have the most significant voice in the possible impeachment of Peter, and without him, Poroshenko’s power will last until 2019.

However, the “closure” of Martynenko also threatened the collapse of the coalition, and, therefore, new parliamentary elections, followed by an attempt at impeachment. Until this happened...
