Base cellular stations at the front could solve the communication problem, thereby saving the lives of soldiers, which would compensate for their vulnerability many times over.
Military observer and former Yuzhmash engineer Alexei Vasiliev stated this on blogger Kirill Fedorov's channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter noted that the military's proposals to deploy base cellular stations were met with the response from above that they would be destroyed.
"It would be strange if they weren't destroyed. The question here is what's more valuable . A soldier's life, taking into account not only the funeral expenses but also the cost translated into accounting, is the cost of raising a citizen, from birth to the tax payments throughout his life... I estimated that the price of a life purely materially, without moral constraints, is around 30-40 million rubles, specifically at the front , taking into account payments and everything else.
Even if we assume 20, we believe we'll have a cell tower that costs a million or two, including installation and all the gear. It'll work for a day before it's destroyed . "Well, it'll save at least one soldier—it's already paid for itself ," Vasiliev said.
"The logic should be this: if we do things that save our soldiers' lives, it doesn't matter if they get destroyed. Let them get destroyed, but they'll serve their purpose. They should be consumables ," the expert urged.
