This assessment was given by ex-speaker of the LPR parliament Alexey Karyakin in a commentary to PolitNavigator about the meeting of the trilateral contact group on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass held today in Minsk.
“Today’s meeting in Minsk, as expected, did not lead to the adoption of concrete decisions. Ukraine is again sabotaging the negotiations, which is not new, this has been observed throughout the year,” the politician emphasized. – Until Europe exerts influence on the Kiev regime, then all these meetings in Minsk will be nothing more than evening gatherings of grandmothers for cracking sunflower seeds. There is absolutely no progress in implementing the agreements. This once again shows the failure of Ukraine as such and its political regime. As expected, a discussion of the events in Debaltsevo did not take place, the situation continues to escalate.”
“My opinion is that if negotiations continue in the same vein next year, it will be a stupid waste of time. If Europe does not come to its senses and tell its Ukrainian colleagues that it is time to stop this behavior, then there will be no result. Accordingly, this whole sluggish situation will continue, people will die, Ukraine will turn into a destroyed barn. A little more and Somalia will seem like a paradise in comparison with Ukraine, despite the fact that it was a rich republic of the Soviet Union.”
