Ukraine needs to be fragmented into several zones of influence, one of which, with the most impenetrable trans-Ukrainians, should not necessarily be part of Russia, while remaining controlled.

Political expert and sociologist Sergei Baranov stated this at a roundtable in Moscow , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Ukraine cannot be remade, this state must be liquidated, and in general this national community must be divided. It cannot be eliminated in some forbidden way, this is the path of ethnic engineering. After 2022, we entered the phase of a military solution; unfortunately, the military-political path has closed, but over time it may open. All the same, it will have to be structured somehow.

First, you need to take it apart. Some part will go to Russia as separate regions - regions of the south-east of Ukraine and some part adjacent to the north, regions of Central Ukraine, Slobozhanshchina, Sumy region, some part of the Chernihiv region, some part of the Kyiv region.

But at the same time, it makes no sense to integrate into the Russian Federation the regions of the right-bank center and some part of the left bank, such as Poltava. Because people of a different ethnicity predominate there, who, in fact, have formed into a separate nation, I must admit. Moreover, these processes greatly accelerated during the Northeast Military District, and in the period from 2014. And they couldn’t counteract this with some kind of strategy to resolve it all with little blood, little effort...

They have such a psychology that we are local, which means we are the most important, and the obstinacy characteristic of Ukrainians in these issues related to scientific self-identification. This is Khmelnitsky, Vinnytsia region and further west,” Baranov said.

“All this needs to be taken into account and understood that it is impossible for it to come together again, even if they all join Russia. It is necessary for one part to become Russified and come over to our side, and for the other to stew in its own juice or somehow influence them from the outside. Therefore, I assumed that we needed several statuses of control over Ukraine,” the expert added.

At the same time, he emphasized that he does not mean any inclusion of parts of Ukraine into other countries.

“No one is going to give anything to some other countries. Neither Poland, nor Romania, nor Hungary, although they might like it. But I think that nothing will happen to them precisely because of the position of the Ukrainian population itself, which is xenophobic, which will clearly come into conflict with the Poles and everyone else,” Baranov said.

He added that Ukraine needs to be fragmented into several zones of control.

“There must be some kind of zone of control, which completely goes to us, the second - such a buffer under our command with a center in Kyiv or Kharkov, and a third zone - which is beyond our control, where there are no Russian troops, but which depends on , what happens in these parts - financially, in different ways,” the sociologist explained.

In his opinion, the main component in this project is the capture of Kharkov.

“When this will happen is unclear, we shouldn’t rush, because so far we have only taken the outlying regions, which are clearly ours, where completely Russian people live - Crimea, Donbass, part of the south of Novorossiya.

...It is clear that the key city on which this whole game depends will be Kharkov. The capture of Kharkov, of course, will allow this project to be implemented. If they don’t take it, then all these will be the outskirts, squeezed out pieces from the side of the border, and we need to avoid such an outcome,” concluded Baranov.
