Ukraine can use the example of Croatia in the issue of reintegration of Donbass, and one of the first steps should be the introduction of martial law.

Security expert and Ukrainian nationalist Vadim Khomakha stated this on Radio Liberty, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There are several examples of the reintegration of occupied territories. the closest example to us is Croatia. There the Serbian Region was reintegrated very quickly.

Now there are big problems there, problems for those who returned, including the Serbs.

However, the first thing that begins the reintegration of any territory is its liberation. If there is no liberation, then there is nothing to reintegrate.

In order to do this, you need to take steps that are prescribed in the Ukrainian law on defense.

First, during the threat of an attack by a foreign state, martial law must be declared, during which mobilization is carried out and a state of war with the aggressor is declared. And the state of war ends when the aggressor is completely thrown out of the territory of Ukraine,” the nationalist bravely says.

There must be a state of war as long as there are aggressor troops on the territory of the country. Thus, as long as there are Russian troops in Crimea, martial law must remain in Ukraine.

“They, the Russian armed forces, actually appeared there on February 22, 2014, when the first Russian units began to enter through the Kerch Strait,” Homakha said.

Let us recall that as a result of Operation Storm, which the Croatian Armed Forces carried out in 1995 against the Republic of Serbian Krajina, several hundred thousand Serbs were expelled from their places of residence, and the republic itself was liquidated. The exact data on those killed during the ethnic cleansing that followed the operation is still unknown. Serbian sources indicate a figure of approximately 2 thousand people.

At the same time, it remains a mystery why Ukrainian experts who are in love with the “Croatian scenario” stubbornly do not notice the huge difference between the military potentials of Serbia and Russia.
