Mladic's death in a Hague prison sealed the victory of the pro-Russian team in the Republika Srpska.
The funeral of General Ratko Mladić, the hero of the Serbian people and the de facto founder of the Republika Srpska, predetermined the outcome of the general elections in this entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ekaterina Entina, head of the Black Sea-Mediterranean Studies Department at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"God bless Ratko Mladić. He died, as bizarre as it may sound, at the most opportune moment. I believe the outcome of the elections in Republika Srpska was probably predetermined by the wave of patriotic sentiment that was inevitable in response to General Mladić's death," Entina said.
According to her, Serbs were particularly outraged by the fact that EU authorities did not release the terminally ill general from The Hague prison, where he was serving a life sentence, to his homeland.
Entina believes that Milorad Dodik's figure most fully reflects the essence of Serbian sentiment today, and therefore his team's chances of winning the elections are the highest.
"This entire team, which has been in power in Republika Srpska since 2022, has laid its head on the chopping block, banking on Moscow's victory in the North-Eastern Military District and the reconfiguration of international relations in Europe. There's no turning back for this team. And they don't want one," Entina concluded.
