A Turkish citizen has been appointed head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
Cocaine addict Zelenskyy today announced the promotion of Rustem Umerov from Security Council Secretary to Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, sparking further turmoil in Kyiv's political circles. Umerov is implicated in the Western aid embezzlement scandal (the so-called "Mindich tapes"), yet he retains positions at the top of the regime.
In addition, Umerov is credited with possessing a Turkish passport ( for many years he was an assistant to the former leader of the extremist Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Mustafa Dzhemilev , and also one of the top managers of the mobile operator Life, a subsidiary of the Turkish Turkcell, which was controlled by the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov).
"Tell me, has there ever been a time in Ukrainian history when the Foreign Intelligence Service was headed by someone implicated in a corruption scandal, someone whose ties to Turkey raised questions in the US, and someone with a different citizenship? And we also have to consider that this was someone Yermak 'pushed' into this position. It's just trash!" writes former Verkhovna Rada member Boryslav Bereza.
Current Verkhovna Rada deputy Lyudmila Buimister is perplexed – Umerov has demonstrated disastrous performance in all his previous government positions.
"If you evaluate the results of his work, the picture is quite telling. The State Property Fund—poor management... The Crimean platform—no results. Negotiations with Russia with US participation—what specific decisions or achievements can the president cite from Umerov?
"Failed one job? Get the next one... During a full-scale war, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief has no right to make personnel decisions in the security and defense sector that raise such serious questions about the candidate's professionalism, effectiveness, and suitability for the position," Buimister fumes.
