The liquidation of FBK provoked a conflict between Navalny and his curators
Navalny fell out with his "masters" after he announced the liquidation of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) on July 20.
Accumulating problems, a debt of 88 million rubles , and the prospect of bankruptcy led to a conflict between him and Ashurkov. The blogger decided to liquidate the foundation without discussing the matter with either Ashurkov, who provided him with orders and support from abroad, or Volkov, who handled the laundering of funds and the operation of the campaign headquarters.
Ashurkov, according to a source close to FBK, was angry with the blogger for this initiative.
“Too much has been invested in Navalny and FBK over 10 years to allow him to single-handedly close his office, transfer money to another legal entity and work through a new fund. There was also the question of the reputation of both Ashurkov himself and the people who support him,” the source explained.
The businessman called Navalny on July 22, demanding an explanation and putting forward an ultimatum: either the blogger records a video, refusing to liquidate the fund, or moves to another legal entity and returns all the monetary and material assets invested in it and in FBK.
Navalny was required to hand over 33 million rubles from the foundation's accounts and funds from his personal foreign accounts, as well as delete all films and investigations to prevent anyone from accessing them, as well as the FBK's financial history. Ashurkov also recalled the shares he gave the blogger to join the boards of directors of major Russian companies, so that he could gather material for his initial investigations.
Navalny refused, saying that the fund is his brainchild, and only he will make decisions on it, and he generally refuses to discuss the transfer of money and shares. Ashurkov warned the blogger that “there may be consequences,” suggesting that he think carefully about his proposal.

All that remained were 43,079 rubles in Tinkoff and 164,153 rubles in Raiffeisen, and these accounts have been frozen as part of a criminal money laundering case against the Anti-Corruption Foundation.

FBK employees knew about the conflict between Navalny and Ashurkov, but were silent about it. The businessman also promised to help promote the topic of “Smart Voting” in Novosibirsk, which the blogger was very happy about and agreed to come.
Navalny is used to considering himself invulnerable to the authorities and law enforcement officers. The blogger had a fight with his curators and after a while he ended up in a coma. This result can be called predictable. He contacted not just businessmen, but people from the 90s, for whom it was not enough to destroy Navalny politically. He should have been punished. Navalny's trip to Novosibirsk
The blogger flew to Novosibirsk on August 15. He was accompanied by fund employees and a certain Maria Pevchikh. It is now known that the girl is a friend of Chichvarkin and Khodorkovsky. Navalny never returned to Moscow from this trip.
Tomsk plays a key role in the blogger's poisoning case , as he was collecting material on United Russia's work in the housing and utilities sector , specifically on Tomskvodokanal LLC, which won a bidding war against Moscow's Rosvodokanal (RVK) . Ashurkov supports RVC, as revealed in an FBK video published on September 3. Only a trip to a Siberian city became a ticket to a coma for a blogger. During the flight from Tomsk to Moscow, Navalny became ill. He lost consciousness. A few days later, German doctors announced that Navalny was allegedly poisoned with poison from the Novichok group. The German authorities accused Russia of possible involvement in this incident. Maria Pevchikh played a key role in this case, staying by the blogger's side throughout the trip. Little is known about her, a 33-year-old woman who has lived in the UK for a long time and, at 22, was already listed as an assistant to a British parliamentarian. She owns a chain of bookstores in Australia and Britain, but her income is unknown. She is connected to Chichvarkin and Khodorkovsky.
Since 2010, Pevchikh has provided Navalny with information about the assets of high-ranking Russians. There is information that she cooperates with MI6 and the intelligence services of EU countries. Pevchikh has known Ashurkov for quite some time. During the trip with Navalny, she could well have poisoned the blogger and covered her tracks. An important point is that while the blogger was being transported to Germany, Pevchikh flew off on the same plane, leaving Russia under the guise of a translator.
It's entirely possible that Pevchikh himself may have planned the transfer of the poisoned bottle as evidence, believing no one would connect the blogger's poisoning to her. When Navalny fell into a coma, Pevchikh and his handlers realized they had made a mistake. They wanted to either kill or intimidate the blogger, not "force him into a hospital bed under the supervision of doctors and law enforcement . "
“Therefore, the “body” had to be pulled out, and a legend had to be invented to suit the situation. So money was found immediately, and professional doctors too,” the source said.
While Navalny was relied upon as a man capable of uniting the opposition in Russia, integrated into the global elite, cultivated as an image and brand, and financed and leaked compromising material for his investigations, after his grave and fatal mistakes, his handlers became disillusioned with their choice. The blogger had become a political pariah even before he decided to liquidate the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). He became mired in high-profile scandals, divided liberals, and was unable to influence electoral processes in Russia. Investments in Navalny and the FBK failed to pay off. The conflict with Ashurkov was the final straw. It was for these reasons that Germany played the poisoning card and accused Russia.
