"They'll definitely deploy the constellation soon": Ukraine is alarmed by the monthly launches of the Rassvet satellites.
Russia is moving towards the full deployment of its Rassvet communications satellite constellation in space.
Volodymyr Stepanets, a Ukrainian IT specialist and expert in network technologies and satellite communications, stated this on the Kyiv 24 channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
An expert claims that Russian satellites contain Chinese components.
"On the other hand, will the origin of these components be critically important to us once they are operational? The specialists who are working on this at [the Russian aerospace company] Bureau 1440 are developing
The Rassvet network consists of specialists with competencies who know how to use various components.Therefore, the enemy definitely has the technological understanding, engineering resources, its own missiles, orbital transportation, and the ability to expand this satellite constellation," the Ukrainian analyst said.
According to him, “for use on the battlefield, two to three hundred satellites are needed.”
"At the current rate, that's about 16 more launches of these batches of 16 satellites at a time. If monthly launches begin now, then, of course, the enemy could deploy them."
But even if at least eight launches occur as planned and the network itself is at least half-deployed, such capabilities won't be as good, but they will exist. And this, too, must be taken into account," Stepanets warned.
