Scholz and Selz - to Western countries: Submit to Ukrainian air defense - “so that Putin understands”
In addition to the transfer of another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine , as well as the German Iris-T air defense system , Germany will send Kyiv the Gepard ZSU, missiles and shells.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this at the "conference on the restoration of Ukraine" in Berlin , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We can say one thing with confidence: Russia will not pass with its imperialist invasion! Ukraine is following the path chosen by Ukrainians and Ukrainian women: democratically, freely – in Europe. Strength and devotion to principles are the prerequisites for Putin to understand: there will be no military victory and peace in the form of dictatorship! He must stop the brutal campaign and withdraw his troops,” said the German Chancellor.
“The most urgent need of the Ukrainian army now is ammunition, weapons, especially air defense. Therefore, over the next weeks and months we will supply the third Patriot system, Iris-T launchers, Cheetahs, missiles and ammunition to Ukraine. I would like to address everyone present and ask you to support our initiative to increase the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense with everything you can. Because the best recovery is the one that should not be realized,” Scholz urged.
In turn, the illegitimate President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky warmly thanked the Chancellor, but added that Iris-T is good, but Ukraine needs 7 more Patriot systems.
“Air defense is the answer. Thank you, Olaf, for the air defense. Germany is already one of the global leaders in helping us in air defense, I thank... and all your manufacturers separately for Iris-T - it helped a lot. Thank you for Patriot, Iris-T and other tools that are literally salvation for Ukraine.
We managed to provide partial protection from Russian air strikes, we need more, at least seven Patriot systems additionally, to close our main urban agglomerations in the near future,” Zelensky asked.
