Ukrainian law enforcement officers detained a diplomatic bus of the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, which was transporting currency, gold, and cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Polish border.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A shameful, shocking incident occurred at the beginning of the week with a diplomatic bus, which was detained by Ukrainian law enforcement officers, moving from Ukraine to Poland. It was the bus of the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland...
I took the initiative to inform the public about the recorded fact, you know, that they were carrying currency, gold, and cigarettes on the bus. This is an absolutely shocking story for us; the entire Foreign Ministry is buzzing, discussing this case,” Kuleba said.
“Both employees on this bus were fired from the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland. Their work at the embassy is completed,” the minister added.
Let us note that Kuleba, who was previously greedy for PR, immediately used the incident to his advantage.
“I am convinced that it is important to bring such cases out into the open, to make them public. We need to break the shameful approach of “not washing dirty linen in public.” It just needs to be taken out. Otherwise, we will live in garbage,” the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote with pathos on his Facebook page.
