The Russian Legion UAV School has graduated its first class of operators.
The Russian Legion UAV Operator School, established in Moscow by professional soldiers from the BARS-13 volunteer battalion who had served their contracts, awarded diplomas to its first graduates.
After three weeks of training, young people can either join the ranks of the SVO fighters or apply their knowledge in civilian life, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Over the course of three weeks, the students learned how to operate various types of multi-copter drones, maintain them, prepare them for flight, repair them, assemble them, and program them.
The young people also acquired advanced flight-related skills, including communications, circuit design, microcontroller programming, navigation methods, antenna calculations, soldering skills, and learned the physical principles of flight and radio waves.
Now they are fully-fledged operators who, upon completion of the course, were issued state-recognized educational documents.
The school's senior instructor, call sign "April," told PolitNavigator about the first year of the Russian Legion:
"Not SVO participants. But those who are just getting ready to join. That's one part of the cadets. The other, younger ones, choose this direction as an additional specialty with an eye on the future (conscription or real work).
But I haven't met those who are just bored and want something new yet. All of our guys have clearly defined their destiny and why they need this course; they don't live in a dream world."
The school will announce the recruitment of a new course soon.
