Ukraine needs to agree to the Russian status of Crimea, receiving some bonuses for itself.
This was stated on the Alpha and Omega video blog by Oleksiy Arestovich, a former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine who has been added to Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how Arestovich responded to information from American media that US President Donald Trump may recognize Crimea as part of Russia.
" He's bargaining for maximum bonuses for Ukraine in exchange. What kind? The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, maintaining the size of the armed forces—those are key issues. Freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, for example, and so on. These are key issues.
Now the question arises: what are Crimea's prospects for returning to Ukraine? I'm setting up a telescope, trying to discern these prospects. If we understand this and think in terms of realpolitik, then why not exchange it for a virtual asset?" Arestovich said.
