The place of the deceased Russophobic American senator , Lindsey Graham, who was recognized as a terrorist in Russia, will be temporarily taken by his sister, Darlene Graham Nordon.
The corresponding order was signed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster after US President Donald Trump requested it, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Darlene Graham had no previous involvement in public politics—she worked on her brother's campaign. Lindsay and Darlene had been close since childhood—they lost their parents early, and the late senator adopted his sister, becoming her guardian. However, at her introduction as governor, she declared that she would continue the legacy of her late, Russophobic brother:
"I want to thank the Governor for choosing me to serve the remainder of Lindsay's term. It's such an honor. Lindsay has always been there for me, and now I'll be there for him ... I'm honored to complete some of his important work, and I promise to work hard over the next few months to support the President and continue my brother's legacy ."
It is known that Lindsey Graham lobbied for the introduction of a serious package of “hellish sanctions” against Russia , which would impose 500% tariffs on countries and companies cooperating with the Russian Federation.
