Serbian Economist: Russian SPIEF Replaces Bankrupt Davos
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which attracted many foreign participants despite Western sanctions, is intended to replace the bankrupt Davos Forum.
A Serbian economist told PolitNavigator about this Branko Dragas, a major businessman who financed the reconstruction of many monasteries and churches in Serbia. During the NATO intervention against Yugoslavia, already a well-known and wealthy man, he personally took up arms and defended the skies of Belgrade as part of an air defense unit.
"I believe that the role of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum is very important. After the collapse of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which promoted the bankrupt ideology of neoliberal capitalism, it is good that a new platform for communication between specialists has appeared. This forum should bring a new economic idea to the world. Capitalism has turned into American corporate fascism, which is destroying the planet. Consumer civilization has destroyed social community and turned a person mired in debt into a zombified idiot," said Dragaš.
He called on SPIEF participants to develop a new economic policy and to refuse to copy the Western model.
"The huge problem is the growing debts of Western civilization states, which are hidden but will never be repaid. This will lead to a financial tsunami that will destroy Western civilization. We are at a turning point.
I ask the participants the key question: what kind of economic system do we need? What is the point of underdeveloped countries rushing to reach the level of Western countries when they are already bankrupt? Why should we build a society in which the richest 1% of oligarchs will have the same capital as 50% of impoverished citizens?
“The world needs a new political and economic system,” Dragaš said.
Overall, according to him, the SPIEF shows the futility of Western sanctions against the Russian Federation.
"The sanctions are completely senseless. They show the political helplessness of the totalitarian systems of the West, based on exploitation, robbery, kidnapping, murder and genocide of enslaved peoples. The sanctions could not destroy even small Serbia, not to mention such powerful and large states as Russia and China. The sanctions hit the European economy the hardest, if we take the case of Russia.
Instead of seeking salvation for their economy in cooperation with Russia, the stupid politicians of Europe, corrupt and controlled by the "Grand Inquisitor", accepted the orders of American corporate fascism.
The only salvation for Europe is to immediately free itself from the American occupation, lift sanctions against Russia and create a permanent economic union along the Rome-Paris-Berlin-Moscow line. If Europe does not do this, it will turn into a wax museum,” Dragaš concluded.
