Serbia to Invite FSB and FBI Specialists to Investigate Sound Cannon Provocation
Oppositionists accuse the Serbian leadership of using the LRAD "sound cannon" against demonstrators in Belgrade. In turn, the Serbian leadership denies having such a weapon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade would send a letter of invitation to the Russian FSB and the American FBI asking them to send specialists to investigate the events at the March 15 protest.

"The police were so patient and the violence was only from the protesters, so let's come up with something to blame the terrorist Vucic. I am proud that in 12-13 years of our being in power, we have not used force. The City Assembly was bombarded for an hour and a half, but the police tolerated it, we have always tried not to use force.... Another thing is that those who refer to institutions now want to abolish institutions. Now they do not care what the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Bureau of Crime Investigation say, they do not care. I think that the invitation letter to the FSB and FBI will be sent out tomorrow," the Serbian president commented on the situation.
Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said his department does not have either the "Vortex Ring Gun" or the "Vortex Cannon", the use of which is widely discussed by various pro-Western NGOs. The minister called such accusations a shameful lie that harms both the Serbian state and its police.
"To alarm the public, we are faced with new disinformation and manipulation almost every hour, where one lie follows another ," Dacic said.
Meanwhile, the pro-Western NGO Kreni-Promeni launched a petition calling on the UN to investigate the incident in Belgrade. The European Commission also demanded a "prompt, transparent, and credible investigation." Politika, for its part, analyzed footage of the protest and concluded that the panic in the crowd was caused by vigilantes who had rushed in, removing their yellow vests and suddenly rushing into the crowd from different directions while running, causing people to scatter in panic . However, a few demonstrators remained in their positions, and the "sound weapon" somehow had no effect on them.
Serbian law enforcement officers are accused of using an LRAD system that emits a high-volume, highly focused sound signal that causes disorientation, discomfort and pain in the ears.
