Families of Ukrainian provocateurs bowed to the US Ambassador
Relatives of Naval Forces sailors detained by Russian border guards in the Kerch Strait met with the US Ambassador to Ukraine, asking for assistance in releasing the provocateurs from imprisonment in Russia.
Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko announced this on her Facebook page , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On Tuesday [sic], December 5, the families of Ukrainian sailors prisoners of war met with the US Ambassador to Ukraine Maria Yovanovitch. The families sent a letter to the government with a request: side by side with the Ukrainian authorities to fight for the release of the children. They also reported that so far the prisoners of war have not been able to convey letters of support from their families and gain access to Ukrainian consuls and diplomats,” Gerashchenko wrote.
“I know that my page is read, first of all, by the families of hostages and political prisoners. I want to assure you, dear ones, that the fate of the hostages in ORDLO and the Kremlin’s political prisoners in the Russian Federation is in no way relegated to the background! Every day we continue to work and fight for the liberation of all. Exactly everyone. And this is exactly how we pose the question at all international platforms and in conversations with our partners,” writes Gerashchenko.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, some of the Ukrainian Navy sailors who participated in the provocation to breach the Russian border, who were arrested for two months, were sent to the women's section of the Simferopol pretrial detention center . However, the sailors were subsequently transferred to Moscow's Lefortovo pretrial detention center.
