“Made the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine impossible”: a British newspaper praised Surovikin
The new commander of the Northern Military District, Sergei Surovikin, managed to stabilize the situation at the front
The Financial Times, a British newspaper with a reputation in the business world, writes about this, as reported by PolitNavigator's correspondent.

The publication notes that Surovikin strengthened the front with mobilized soldiers, carried out a “successful retreat” from Kherson and strengthened defensive structures.
“These strong defensive positions reduce the chances of success for a Ukrainian winter counteroffensive that would cut the land bridge running along the Azov Sea coast connecting Russia to Crimea, although a breakthrough is still considered possible by Western military analysts,” the newspaper writes.
The newspaper quotes an unnamed Western defense adviser as saying that the morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is higher than that of the Russians.
However, he admits that the Ukrainian military is suffering high losses, and some units are “suffering from severe fatigue, and they need more weapons and ammunition.”
In turn, former British Army General Ben Barry told the FT that Russian tanks, drones and large numbers of people “are worth nothing if the intelligence and leadership are inadequate.”
