Russia, first of all, destroys the Ukrainian army and statehood, and the territories are a secondary goal.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The conditional seizure of Avdiivka does not affect anything from a territorial point of view. But if Russia manages to create a pocket near Avdiivka, for example, and capture several thousand Ukrainian soldiers and defeat the Ukrainian army in this area, this will be a strategic threat.
I'm just simulating the situation. That is, the new Debaltsevo or the new Ilovaisk, or the new Mariupol pose a strategic danger for us. But leaving territories is not. Because this is just a continuation of the war.

As a reminder, the director of the Lviv Historical Museum previously stated that the Russians don't need land; they want to kill the Banderites.
